The first emperor of imperial China, Qin Shi Huang, who ordered the construction of the Great Wall, also enslaved an estimated 700,000 laborers to create a life-size army of over 8,000 soldiers to accompany him into the afterlife. This morning, view this awe-inspiring display of life-size clay warriors, horses, chariots, and other artifacts at the Terracotta Warriors Museum, built above the Terracotta archeological site.

View the 7th to 9th-century Tang Dynasty murals
In the afternoon, visit the Shaanxi Provincial History Museum to view the Tang Dynasty Murals, which were created between the 7th and 9th centuries to depict life in China at that time. Over 600 murals have been extracted from tombs-the most recent extraction was in early 2018-and nearly 100 are on display.
