Day 1 Arrive Bangkok
Sawadee Khrab and welcome to Thailand! On arrival you will be personally met by your Scenic Tours Representative and transferred* to your hotel (please arrive by 5.00pm). This evening enjoy the tantalising tastes of traditional and authentic Thai dinner overlooking the Chao Phraya River.

Day 2 Bangkok
This morning cherish your visit to Wat Pho to witness the monks in their early morning chant. This uplifting ritual is a fantastic chance to experience the Buddhist culture and lifestyle of the monks. Visit the temple grounds and the enormous 45 metre reclining Buddha before continuing on to the Grand Palace, Thailand’s most important landmark. Appreciate the grandeur and majesty of the buildings, hallways and throne halls and marvel at the mysterious Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image dating back to the 14th century.

Day 3 Bangkok – Chiang Mai
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Chiang Mai. Late in the day journey to Wat Phra That, sitting on top on Doi Suthep Mountain, the most sacred Buddhist temple in Northern Thailand. Climb the 309 steps of the intricately carved Golden Naga staircase and be greeted by the golden spire which decorates the mountain top temple. View the richly decorated murals and shrines and discover the legend of how the temple was founded.

Two Night Special Stay: Chiang Mai
Day 4 Chiang Mai
Travel to an elephant training camp and learn about the breeding program and their health care. Watch the elephants taking their morning bath, see a demonstration of how they work in the jungle before experiencing
an elephant ride. Return to Chiang Mai where the remainder of the day is at leisure. Perhaps enjoy a traditional Thai massage or visit Chiang Mai’s famous night market.
Day 5 Chiang Mai – Siem Reap
Fly to Siem Reap, Sous Sdei and welcome to Cambodia! On arrival transfer to your luxury hotel and enjoy the afternoon at leisure.
Three Night Special Stay: Siem Reap
Day 6 Siem Reap
Witness sunrise over the magnificent 12th century World Heritage Angkor Wat and after touring the spectacular temples, return to the hotel for breakfast. Later visit Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple and Ta Prohm, entangled by the surrounding jungle vines. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant that trains young Cambodians from poor families in the principles of hospitality.
Day 7 Siem Reap
SCENIC FREECHOICE (1) discover the temple of Banteay Srei and visit the Landmine Museum which promotes mine awareness and education; or (2) visit a local market and take part in an authentic Khmer cooking class; or (3) explore the recently accessible Beng Mealea temples in the jungles of Siem Reap; or (4) appreciate Cambodia’s exquisite handicrafts.
SCENIC ENRICH Attend a performance and learn about Phare the Cambodian Circus, a special show that blends contortion, juggling, acrobats with high energy music and modern dance forms to tell uniquely Cambodian stories.
Day 8 Siem Reap – embark cruise
Journey to Kampong Cham and board the luxurious Scenic Spirit. Cruise toward Wat Hanchey, walk to the top and meet with some young novice monks before soaking in some of the best Mekong River views. Return to the ship and enjoy your Champagne welcome reception and dinner.

Day 9 Kampong Cham – Kampong Chhnang
Early this morning enjoy Tai Chi on the Sun Deck before exploring Kampong Cham, a quiet provincial capital with French architecture from the colonial period. Discover the legend of Phnom Pros (Man Hill) and Phnom Srei (Woman Hill) and stroll through the ecotourism village of Cheung Kok, supported and developed by AMICA (Assistance Mediation Internationale pour le Cambodge). Walk among the stilt houses, watch women weave scarves called ‘krama’ a typical Khmer cloth and learn about their traditional farming techniques.
SCENIC ENRICH Discover the ancient stories surrounding the 11th century temple complex of Wat Nokor. At the centre of the ancient complex a more contemporary and brightly coloured wat has been built and here you will receive a traditional monk’s blessing.
Return to your luxury river cruise and cruise towards the scenic Tonle Sap River. This narrow winding river provides a rare up-close glimpse of rural river life and the area is well known as the pottery centre of Cambodia.
Day 10 Kampong Chhnang – Tonle Sap
Transfer to smaller boats and experience a panoramic cruise to the unique floating villages with houses, shops and schools all bobbing on the water. Later cruise towards Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, a charming city crisscrossed by broad tree-lined boulevards and dotted with French villas and wonderful colonial architecture.
Day 11 Phnom Penh
Take a rickshaw journey along the city’s riverfront to the Royal Palace complex, with its famous Silver Pagoda and Temple of the Emerald Buddha before discovering many Angkor period artefacts at the National Museum.
SCENIC ENRICH Raffles, Hotel Le Royal, is one of Asia’s essential landmark hotels and is the perfect place to enjoy high tea before an exclusive private shadow puppet performance accompanied by a traditional Khmer orchestra.
Day 12 Phnom Penh – Vietnam border
Scenic FreeChoice (1) journey through the countryside to the Killing Fields and tour Tuol Sleng, the former school that was converted to the main prison and torture headquarters of the Khmer Rouge; or (2) take a guided tour of the local food market before joining in a hands on Khmer cooking demonstration; or (3) travel by cyclo and explore central Phnom Penh, its colonial buildings as well as modern, post-independence architecture; or (4) visit Silk Island, learn about silk weaving and see
how the families are maintaining old traditions of hand looming silk and dyeing
it to bright hues.
SCENIC ENRICH Lunch today will be off ship at a restaurant operated by an NGO that supports the education and training of former street children. Meet some of the teachers and students and see how their lives have been changed by this initiative.
Spend some time at leisure, continue exploring the city, discover wonderful shopping at the Russian Market or simply enjoy the comfort on board the ship. Later enjoy a wonderful performance of Apsara, a traditional dance before sailing towards the Vietnam border.
Day 13 Chau Doc – Sa Dec
Xin Chao and welcome to Vietnam! After completing border formalities cruise towards Chau Doc. For most of its history Chau Doc was under Cambodian rule and large Khmer communities together with local Cham, Chinese and Vietnamese combine to form a wonderful melting pot of cultures. SCENIC FREECHOICE (1) board a small boat and cruise down canals, visit family operated fish-farms before strolling through settlements of Cham people; or (2) journey to nearby Sam Mountain, appreciate the expansive views and explore a clutch of pagodas and shrines; or (3) explore Tra Su Bird sanctuary, home to a rich array of wildlife and birds (storks, egrets, cormorants, peafowls and water cocks). Return to the ship and cruise towards the historic town of Sa Dec passing a cluster of brick kilns along the river bank.
Day 14 Sa Dec – Cai Be
Take a stroll through Sa Dec’s bustling market, stop to visit the home of Mr. Hyun Thuy Le, who inspired French novelist Marguerite Duras’ novel L’Amant (The Lover), and discover a colourful Cao Dai Temple. Cruise further into the Mekong Delta to Cai Be, famous for its floating markets and visit a small family-operated rice factory and watch as they produce rice paper, rice wine, rice pop and candies all by hand. Return to the ship and gather for a Champagne farewell reception and dinner.
Day 15 Disembark cruise – Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast disembark your luxury cruise and transfer to the famous Cu Chi tunnels.
