Itinerary

Day 1 – ARRIVE TORONTO

On arrival at Toronto International Airport, your airport transfer service takes you to your tour hotel. Your Tour Director is at the hotel this afternoon to greet you and answer your questions. At 6 p.m., gather at the hotel with your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception and light buffet.

Day 2 – TORONTO SIGHTSEEING & NIAGARA FALLS EXCURSION

Rise to the top of the CN Tower, the tallest free-standing tower in the Americas, for views from four look-out levels. Travel up University Avenue to see Queen’s Park, the Parliament buildings and museum row. Now it’s on to Niagara Falls. View this great natural wonder up-close on the Maid of the Mist cruise. Browse the shops and galleries of Niagara-on-the-Lake before returning to Toronto. (FB,D)

Day 3 – TORONTO – OTTAWA

Follow the shores of Lake Ontario to historic Kingston where you view the old buildings, churches and fortifications. Now continue to the capital of Ottawa to visit the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Tonight, travel by giant canoe to Turtle Island to savour a native feast accompanied by traditional dance.

Day 4 – OTTAWA – MONTREAL

Enjoy an orientation tour along the stately boulevards of Ottawa seeing the green-peaked roofs of the Parliament, City Hall and the National Art Gallery of Canada. Now continue to Montreal in the French speaking province of Quebec. Join a local guide to see the cobblestone streets and buildings of the old town, the grand mansions of Mount Royal, downtown area and visit Notre-Dame Basilica.

Day 5 – MONTREAL – QUEBEC CITY

Start the day with breakfast at Montreal’s Museum of Archaeology and History before continuing to Quebec City, set atop sheer cliffs at a narrowing of the St. Lawrence River. The day is at leisure to soak up the city’s old-world charm.

Day 6 – QUEBEC CITY SIGHTSEEING

Experience Quebec’s unique European charm with a local guide: the Latin Quarter, Plains of Abraham, ramparts, National Assembly, Basilica, City Hall, Place Royale and Citadel. Venture north to visit Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre, the first pilgrimage shrine in North America and the Montmorency Falls. (B)

Day 7 – QUEBEC CITY – BAR HARBOR

Bid “Au Revoir” to Quebec and cross the US border. Relax and enjoy the countryside while travelling east toward the Atlantic coast, to the quintessential New England fishing village of Bar Harbor, Maine.

Day 8 – BAR HARBOR – ACADIA EXCURSION

Take in the natural beauty of Acadia National Park, with its dramatic rocky shoreline, beaver ponds and spectacular views from the top of Cadillac Mountain. Explore Bar Harbor on your own in the afternoon, take an optional nature cruise or go whale watching, before feasting on a traditional Maine lobster dinner. (B,HD)

Day 9 – BAR HARBOR – BOSTON

Follow the rocky Maine shoreline south, stopping in picturesque Kennebunkport for a chance to soak up typical New England life. Pass Portsmouth, New Hampshire’s only coastal city, en route to Boston, Massachusetts. Hotel: Hyatt Regency Boston (B)

Day 10 – BOSTON SIGHTSEEING

Boston is one of America’s oldest and most historic cities. Join your Tour Director for a trip along the Freedom Trail. See Beacon Hill, Faneuil Hall, Charlestown, Bunker Hill Pavilion and the meeting house where the Boston Tea Party was planned. The afternoon is at leisure. Tonight, enjoy a selection of restaurants for your dining pleasure. (B,DA)

Day 11 – BOSTON – PHILADELPHIA

Travel to Philadelphia where both the Declaration of Independence and US Constitution were written. Explore Independence National Historic Park, visit the Liberty Bell and view Independence Hall. Hotel: Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing (B)

Day 12 – PHILADELPHIA – WASHINGTON DC

Tour the award winning National Constitution Center before continuing to Washington DC. The afternoon is free to perhaps visit one of the Smithsonian’s museums, the Kennedy Center, or stroll through the historic cobblestone streets of Georgetown. Day 13 – WASHINGTON DC SIGHTSEEING

See Capitol Hill and The White House on your morning guided city tour. Stops include the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials and the WWII and Vietnam Veterans Memorials. In Arlington, board the narrated Tourmobile and visit the National Cemetery. (B)

Day 14 – WASHINGTON DC – NEW YORK CITY

Depart the nation’s capital and visit Baltimore’s Inner Harbour. There is time to explore this historic area before heading to the Big Apple. The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 15 – NEW YORK CITY SIGHTSEEING

This mornings orientation tour includes Times Square, the Financial and Broadway Districts and Battery Park. After, visit the Top of the Rock observation deck with stunning views of the New York skyline. Day 16 – DEPART NEW YORK CITY

The tour comes to an end with departure transfers to JFK and Newark International Airports and La Guardia Airport. (B)
