ITINERARY:
| Day 1 Arrive Santiago Private transfer from the airport to hotel for a 2 night stay. Afternoon at leisure. |
| Day 2 Santiago Morning at leisure. Afternoon city tour. Highlights include the Palacio de la Moneda, Plaza de Armas, Cathedral, Main Post Office, and City Hall. |
| Day 3 Santiago – Santa Cruz (150km) Transfer to the Galerias Hotel for a 7.30am departure for Santa Cruz, located in the Colchagua Valley. Visit a winery in the region and enjoy tasting their fine wines. Buffet lunch at Santa Cruz Hotel, followed by an afternoon excursion to the impressive Colchagua Museum. Overnight Santa Cruz. |
| Day 4 Santa Cruz-Santiago (150km) After Breakfast, enjoy the morning at leisure and lunch in Santa Cruz hotel. Departure from the hotel to visit Santa Cruz vineyard, located 25 km. from Santa Cruz. Visit to the facilities and tasting of their wine Chaman. Ride on a cable car to visit the indigenous village where Aymara, Rapa Nui and Mapuche cultures have been recreated. Return to Santiago.Drop off at the Galerias Hotel and transferred to your hotel. Overnight Santiago. |
| Day 5 Santiago – Puerto Montt. Transfer from airport for flight ot Puerto Varas. Founded in 1853 by Vicente Perez Rosales and colonized by German immigrants, the strong influence of these colonists can be appreciated throughout the area. It is a picturesque seaport and the capital of the Lakes region. Some years ago, this was the southernmost city that could be reached by land in Chile, now with the construction of the “Carretera Austral” (Austral highway) Puerto Montt has united Coyhaique to the rest of the country. Met on arrival by our local representative for transfer to your hotel hotel located in Puerto Varas. |
| Day 6 Puerto Varas – Peulla This morning depart from your hotel by bus to Puerto Varas “ City of Flowers” From here continue along the south side of Lake Llanquihue where Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes dominate the landscape. Arrive at Vincente Perez Rosales National Park where you will visit the beautiful Petrohue Falls, see the majesty of Osorno Volcano and Lake Todos los Santos. Sail the beautiful emerald coloured water of this lake where you will be able to appreciate its shore bordered by native forests, mountains, volcanoes, hills and waterfalls. Arrive at Peulla and overnight at the quaint and peaceful Hotel Peulla. |
| Day 7 Peulla – Bariloche Depart by bus crossing the Andes before heading down a narrow mountain road, crossing the border into Argentina and on to Puerto Frias. Continue by launch across Lakes Frias, a small but impressive lake that winds its way through maginificent mountains and forests. Drop anchor at Puerto Alegre, from where you take a bus through the larch tree forest to Puerto Blest. Continue by boat across Nahuel Huapi Lake for the last lakes crossing to Puerto Panuelo from where you travel by bus to Bariloche and your hotel. |
| Day 8 Bariloche Bariloche is a quaint Swiss style town and the gateway to the famous Lakes district, located on the southern shore of the Nahuel Huapi Lake. This vast area in the southern Andes of Argentina and Chile is considered one of the most beautiful regions with its lakes, rivers, snow capped peaks, abundance of flora and fauna. Bariloche is also famous for its ski fields and chocolate shops. 9am hotel pick up for a sightseeing tour along the Nahuel-Huapi National Park, visiting the Cerro Campanario and take the chair-lift to the top of the hill from where the spectacular beauty ofthe region can be appreciated. Continue to Llao Llao Peninsula and the San Eduardo Chapel, an architectural treasure. Drop off at hotel around 1pm. |
| Day 9 Depart Bariloche Fly to Buenos Aires (Cost of flight not included) Buenos Aires, a sophisticated city with a strong European influence and culture. With its blend of Spanish, French and Italian architectural styles, great variety of night spots and cultural life it is often referred to as the “South American Paris”. Although Buenos Aires is a very large city it is easy to explore on foot. Met on arrival for transfer to your hotel located in the central city area. |
| Day 10 Buenos Aires Hotel pick up at 9am for a city sightseeing tour visiting: Plaza de Mayo surrounded by El Cabildo, the Cathedral and La Casa Rosada (the pink house – Government House). The colourful La Boca district, drive past the national Congress, 9 de Julio Avenue, Palermo and Recoleta. Drop off at hotel around 12pm. Afternoon at leisure. Hotel pick up at 7.30pm to enjoy dinner and a night of music and tango at one of the excellent show places where typical songs and dances are performed. Drop off at hotel around midnight. |
