Musandam Peninsula – Extension

The Musandam Peninsula, rugged and beautiful, is found at the very furthest point on the remote north coast tip of Oman. Bordered by Dubai it is easily accessible by road from there or a short flight from Muscat. Mountains rise straight from the water dominating the landscape and creating a coastline that is unique in this region. The area offers many historical and archaeological sites as well as the clear waters of the Musandam fjords. There are more true reefs here than anywhere else in Oman to cater to those marine life enthusiasts.

Itinerary

Day 1 Muscat to MusandamThe tour starts with a short flight from Muscat to Khasab, a small fishing port. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon enjoy a half day mountain safari of Jebel Harim, the highest peak of the Musandam Peninsula at 2087m, travelling in a 4X4 vehicle. Overnight: Golden Tulip Hotel.
Day 2 MusandamAfter breakfast take a full day dhow cruise to the spectacular fjords, exploring small fishing villages, and the famous Telegraph Island. This is the place to be to watch birds, dolphins, dive or snorkel. Lunch is served on board. Overnight: Golden Tulip Hotel
Day 3 Musandam to Muscat or DubaiAfter breakfast depart on a city tour with a visit to Khasab Fort built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and on to Wadi Tawi to see the prehistoric rock paintings. Transfer to Khasab Airport for departing flight or alternatively travel by road to Dubai
