This 10-day safari starts from Entebbe visiting the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, followed with chimpanzee trekking in both Kibale and Queen Elizabeth National Parks, together with game viewing and a trip to Ngamba Island

Itinerary

Day 1 ENTEBBEOn arrival at Entebbe International Airport you are met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel or similar
Day 2 ENTEBBE – BWINDI NATIONAL PARKDrive to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for overnight with all meals included. Optional charter flights are available at an additional cost to avoid the full day drive. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge
Day 3 BWINDI NATIONAL PARKAn early morning trek into the forest on the slopes of the volcanoes, led by experienced trackers will bring you amongst a family of Mountain Gorillas where you are able to spend one hour with them. Spend the afternoon at leisure. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge
Day 4 BWINDI NATIONAL PARKToday you will have the option of a second gorilla trek if pre-purchased. Alternatively explore the village of Bwindi for some curio shopping, visit a local orphanage or pygmy village or take a guided forest walk. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge
Day 5 BWINDI NATIONAL PARK – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARKDepart by road heading north to the Ishasha region of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you will be accommodated in a tented camp nestled under trees along a river. The “Meru” style tents offer comfortable accommodation and ensuite bathrooms and activities here include game drives, guided walks and bird-watching. Overnight at Ishasha Wilderness Camp or similar
Day 6 QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARKA second day may be enjoyed in the Park, with time to enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, as well as additional game drives. Chimp tracking in Chamburu Gorge is optional. Overnight Ishasha Wilderness Camp or similar
Day 7 QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – KIBALE FORESTDrive into the Kibale Forest. Overnight lodge or tented camp
Day 8 KIBALE FORESTSpend the morning chimp trekking with afternoon at leisure or take an optional forest walk. Overnight lodge or tented camp
Day 9 KIBALE FOREST – ENTEBBE – NGAMBA ISLANDReturn to Entebbe for the boat transfer to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Reserve on Lake Victoria, where orphaned chimpanzees have been relocated. Accommodation will be in large East African style tents with ensuite bathroom facilities on platforms overlooking the lake. Overnight tented camp
Day 10 NGAMBA ISLAND – ENTEBBEReturn to Entebbe by boat and onward transfer to the airport
