| Day 2 | Design Your Day Ho Chi Minh CityThis dynamic city formerly known as Saigon has much to see plus restaurants, bars and shops aplenty. Choose two of the following half day activities: a trip out of town to visit the Cu Chi tunnels, an extensive network dug by the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces during the war; in the downtown are visit the Reunification Palace with a photostop outside the Cathedral; or venture also travel out into the countryside to Tay Ninh to see the massive 9-storey Cao Dai Holy See Temple. | Day 3 | Ho Chi Minh City-Hoi AnA morning to wander the streets of China Town and visit the Thien Hau Pagoda before a *flight north to Danang and on to the World Heritage listed town of Hoi An. Explore the charming streets and this exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port between the 15th and 19th centuries.

| Day 4 – 5 | Design Your Days Hoi AnTwo days to enjoy this delightful town with its strong Chinese and Japanese trading influences. Choose two of the following activities: cruise on the Thu Bon River and see the Japanese Covered Bridge and museum; out of town a trip to the important early Cham temples at My Son; or Marble Mountain for fine views, Statues of Buddha and temples carved out of the rock as well as the important Cham Museum. | Day 6 | Hoi An – HueA three hour drive north to Hue, the 19th century capital of Vietnam. After lunch cross the Perfume River to visit the Imperial Citadel, a vast complex encompassing three walled enclosures and home to the emperor. | Day 7 | Design Your Day HueChoose one of the following activities: A morning visit to the royal Tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh, both rulers of the Nguyen Dynasty with lunch in the home of a local personality and expert on cultural aspects of Hue. | Day 8 | Hue – HanoiA morning *flight north to the capital Hanoi and after settling into your hotel the rest of the day to tour this charming provincial city set around Hoan Kiem Lake. Start with a visit to Ho Chi Minh’s house, the One Pillared Pagoda and the Fine Arts Museum. Also, the serene Temple of Literature which dates to 1070.
